Nightreign is superior to vanilla Elden ring
Elden ring becomes 1000 times better if you had the nightreign tarnished.
The problem with eldenring is that the enemies are playing sekiro/Bloodborne while your character is shit. In nightreign you have simpler yet more useful resources to deal with enemies, while still being a challenging game. Ultimates and character skills is what's missing in the base game.
Bosses are also less bullshit and have clearer animations, except for the AoE spam, but I can understand this in a 3 players game.
Having quicker movement and wall jumping is also useful. The level system and closed map removes the useless padding vanilla Elden ring has, which is a big open world with nothing on it and grinding the same enemy for the 10th time. And copy pasted dungeons and enemies.
One problem they do have is that the map geometry still sucks and you shouldn't be doing bad platforming in a game clearly not designed for it. Camera and target focus also still suck, and we all know it while fighting drakes and big enemies.
I would personally remove the input lag with rolls and use the new dash system, is 100 times better and I would also remove input buffering but some people like it, it seems.
Over all, I think the Elden ring formula works better this way with nightreign even if it still has flaws and I think that if eldenring had 2 more years of cooking, it would be a great game.
