Desperado is not a good tower.

5xx is a useless shitpile. It's insanely weak even after the bug fix. It's cheap, but still not worth the price.

x5x is the only powerful option, but getting to x3x is expensive and accommodating this tower is hard to justify.

xx5 is an ok tower. It doesn't have impressive clearing power relative to other similarly priced t5 options. Another hard tower to justify for objectively optimal reasons.

Then you have no options for crosspathing as well. Top and bottom both take crit because it's better than anything else. The Wanderer upgrade is plainly retarded and doesn't work with the rest of the game. There's no way to develop your defenses in an intelligent way that doesn't just ignore this upgrade's activation conditions. You'll only see this upgrade active on the bottom path shotgun, and even then you have to go way out of your way to keep it stacked up while also buffing the tower. It's stupid that this exists in the game.

xx5 is insane if you give him a berserker brew.
He can solo up to the 90s.

5xx is also alright, he doesn't have the retarded nomad fuckery, is cheap and can melt a BAD if you support him with final harmonic.

x5x is very hard to use because of that retarded pistol switch, I would use him more often if NK removed that shit but rn it's fucked.
The railgun is fun but it's extremely map dependant and the price doesn't justify the build up and preparation.

Do you know about this? The way I read it was about the game wanting you to try different heroes. I highly doubt they'd have a model ready or mechanics in there to beta test. But I could be wrong.

I'm just guessing, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me. None of the heroes qualify as "new" anymore and the only other interpretation I can think of would be about unlocking heroes you don't have already. Obviously many people already have every hero unlocked which would bar them from doing that part.
