What's your preferred POV/ Aspect Ratio while gaming?

First person, 16:9. Anything else feels like I'm playing on a goddamn toaster or trying to reenact 2005 machinima.
Ultrawide is cool if you want your GPU to scream and your FOV to look like you're peeking through a fishbowl.
Third person is fine for soulslikes or if I want to stare at my drip, but for anything competitive it's first person or bust.
And if you're playing in 4:3 in current year you're either on a CRT or coping hard.

Aspect ratio is neither actual screen size nor FOV. You can have a 4:3 as wide as a 16:9 but it'll be taller as well. You can set even an ultra widescreen to have a quake pro tier fov if you really want.

it's not rendered widescreen on ps2. it just squishes the image and the television stretches the still 4:3 output. that kind of widescreen looked horrible.

additionally gta3+ on the ps2 had vert- widescreen. this means from a 4:3 frame, the top and bottom are cropped to make it 16:9. so you're stretching pixels as well as seeing less, and the HUD is also stretched horizontally. it's not true widescreen. hope this helps
