a lot of the themes are lame and you quickly get to the point where everything is an instant drop so you cant even look at the visuals

Hmmm sounds like you gave it a fair shake, all I can say is realizing how I could drop half the tiles to set up chains completely changed the way I played the game and turned my 5-10 minute sessions into hour+. Maybe you can just play on the slower bar levels. But if it ain't for you that's alright

New Lumines?!!

I recommend Tetris Grandmaster 4 on Steam. I don't know when it will be released for consoles.
The game is really good, holy shit.
And the Grand Master rules are way better than classic Tetris. The game is more interesting and enjoyable to play.

I tried to play it but the visuals and music with lyrics and beats are distracting.
I just play tetr.io sometimes.
