>>715191184The problem with Ori 1 is it can't decide if Kuro is supposed to be a force of nature or a character. A force of nature doesn't need forgiveness or reason, but Kuro is shown repeatedly to be choosing their actions and ultimately "redeeming" themselves with a noble sacrifice.
And its wrong, sometimes this isn't more to people than their actions, if their actions overwhelm everything else about it. Kuro genocided Ori's race, the Gumon race, destroyed the forest and only changed her mind when her own interests were threatened.
Its not a message about not continuing a cycle of revenge, because Ori was never after revenge at all, and Kuro got everything they wanted revenge-wise until the very end.
