>>715191339 I can't imagine Nintendo going back to it. Galaxy 2 technically wasn't even supposed to exist. To be fair I'd rather they keep trying new things given how infrequently 3D Mario games are released
game was originally supposed to be open world before they settled on level-based design. I hope they actually go back to that original vision for the inevitable PS6 sequel
>>715194512 >game was originally supposed to be open world before they settled on level-based design Where did you hear that

>>715194512 Honestly, I’d prefer it stay linear, it helps separate itself from 3d Mario’s current direction

>>715188542 (OP) Is Astro Bot the worse GOTY since Dragon Age Inquisition? I always see people talk about Sekiro, God of War, Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3, heck even It Yakes Two from time to time and that was also considered a GOTY in a weak year. But Astro Bot? Nobody remembers it.

>>715195306 they copied future ideas and mechanics nintnedo wouldve implemented but couldnt because of weak hardware, next Mario will destroy this piece of shit ripoff
>>715188542 (OP) Not that sales are the best metric of quality, but >GOTY >is outsold by a third of its sales by the fucking trashheap that was Stellar Blade Please refrain from posting Shillbot if you don't wanna "start shit".
>>715191518 Current Sony is completely delusional and will likely give Astro Bot a AAA budget now instead of understanding that it works because it's a lower budget game that focused on what it set out to do and was filled with lots of passion behind what they were doing. So I don't see an Ape Escape or Loco Roco level ever happening. You can even see how those specific levels in Astro Bot felt like they had way more attention and love given to them over God of War and Uncharted seemed to be given. Even Horizon seemed to get more love for the bow gameplay.
>>715213652 If you prefer linear 3d platformers, I’d recommend also playing super mario 3d world, kirby and the forgotten land, the crash bandicoot series, and astro bot rescue mission
>>715215923 Forgotten Land was fine for like the first half of the game but once you get to the Meta Knight stuff I just lost a lot of my interest. I wish the levels weren't so long.
>>715216056 Here are all of the similarities >linear 3d platformer with collectathon elements >relatively easy with a cute mascot >main base game collectibles are little guys you have to save and once saved, will help build your hub world >same amount of main base game collectibles, that being 300 >6 worlds to explore, the first world ending with a gorilla boss, the second world ending with a tropical beach boss, and the third world ending with a girl boss >each world’s map has you travel around on your main vehicle to get to each level or find secret mini levels >there are little cardboard cutouts you can stick your head through >you can charge up a spin attack as one of your moves
>>715218086 I’m a tendie and I prefer astro bot. Galaxy sucks both at being a linear 3d mario and sandbox 3d mario and is ironically more railroaded and cinematic-reliant than astro bot, a sony game
It's a really fun game, but people on /v/ are poor and can only own one console so they get super defensive of that one system as a coping mechanism for being poor and stupid.
Console wars are literal 3rd world behavior from corporate slaves.
