There are lot more anons using the site than posting. They are what old schoolers (like me, been here since 2004) like to call lurkers. That means there is audience. The art sites and social media sites have like/fav buttons to easily show you like something, you don't need to type anything.
The problem is that you and many other tie your feel of success to have few handful anons to actually click your post, come up something to comment, click reply, type it and post. You are expecting some random anon to validate you and your art. If you want engagement, brand yourself, make your art available to your target audience, receive the dopamine from likes, attention, comments and contacts.
