>barrel/ground effects gimmick
>initiative doesn't matter
>retarded ridiculous level scaling of items and enemies
>round robin making taking out weaker enemies first a bad idea instead of focusing on the boss because this means that the stronger enemies will attack more often with deadlier attacks
>the previous point wouldn't be as bad without this one, but it makes it exponentially worse: the physical/magical armor system
>the physical/magical armor system also ruins CC and turns the game into doing rotations all the time
>the armor system also ruins party comps and makes mixed comps of magical and physical damage ineffective
>did I say that the armor system is crap?
this is not just one of the worst CRPGs I've played, I consider it my worst purchase on steam. and I got it at launch

Based. Arguably the best RPG of all time.

DOS2 has absolutely top-notch
>sense of adventure, immersion, and world-building
>free-form, challenging, open-ended combat with a strong focus on environmental interaction
>deep mechanics, strong strategic elements, and high replayability
>memorable fights against a huge variety of well-designed enemies and bosses in unique scenarios that take part in context of a greater narrative/quest, instead of just being braindead throwaway trashmobs to farm
>tons of classes, builds, spells, playstyles to tinker with
>world design and inter-connectivity
>open-ended and branching quest design, interactivity, and reactivity
>player choice and freedom
>lighthearted writing that knows when to be serious and with engaging companion arcs
>attention to detail, ability to interact with anything, go anywhere, go in any interior, steal anything, kill anyone, story always adapts to your actions

There are many games that are strong in one aspect, and weak in most others. DOS2 is as strong in its weakest aspects as most RPGs are in their strongest aspect. It is just such an incredibly well-rounded game, and it especially excels in open-ended environmental-based combat, player choice and freedom, and interactivity/reactivity that are completely untouched by any other comparable RPG in existence (except other Larian RPGs).

This retarded argument never made any sense, some enemies have lots of physical shield while others have lots of mana shield so that obviously encourages you to bring both.

oh right I forgot about this one
>90% of the encounters are ambushes because Swen thinks that preparing yourself before battle is cheesing the game
Anonymous No.715190458 [Report] >>715190797
>>715190197
that's situational. most of the enemies have somewhat balanced values, which means that you are wasting your time stripping down both armor types before dealing damage to the enemy

Yeah I filter out bad games, what of it?

There was a time where I could get into any game and have fun until I played this one. The first game I ever dropped intentionally. Bros, I tried. I really did, but this game never clicked for me like I hoped it would. What did I do wrong? What do other people see in this game that I didn't?

As with all crpgs, you have to be at least a little autistic to truly enjoy it. It's one of my top 3 for sure. If the worldbuilding was better, it would have been my favorite video game ever, but after 5 divinity games Larian could still not settle on the lore and worldbuilding for their setting, which is disappointing, because it significantly affects my immersion. I do hope that for their next divinity game they will finally sit down and develop a proper setting with history, timeline, well defined nations, cultures, species and magic system.
