Maybe 10 years ago. Few F2Ps will enjoy the game enough to put up with 5-10 thousand hour having mains stomping most of the game nowadays. I have like 7k and I simply can not comprehend how anyone would even get into tf2 with people like me in it.

Because every modern FPS tries to be "le competitive" and "le e-sports" which TF2's game design does not fit with (hence why comp is 6v6 with like 70% of the weapons banned)

Overwatch was pretty fun when it first came out, but they slowly and surely nerfed all the fun out of the game to appease the e-sports autists

It's always funny to watch casual niggers conflate "fun remover" with nerfs. It's fun for who? No one when every team runs the exact same broke strategy because it's "fun" just admit you're a meta slave and quit because the game became too hard to win without your cheesy strats. As someone who's played since season 1 there's never been anything i considered "fun" that was removed or nerfed for no reason. It's ALWAYS because it becomes the most popular way to play while simultaneously being the most annoying shit to deal with.

outside of congoers and sandwich heavy I think most players do care about winning, they just want it on their own terms which is really the casual rallying cry across multiplayer games when you think about it. The demoknight or trolldier might be useless but they'll usually make an attempt for the objective as the clock winds down
