>dpad and joystick are practically immortal as well
yeah, if you're not a faggot. dc controller was designed for hard hot action gameplay

I've never used one but my biggest criticism was always the wire coming out from the bottom of the controller. Guess they might have had to do it with the VMUs and whatnot though.

I hate the thumbstick. It's made of plastic instead of rubber and the nubs dig into your thumb.
Anonymous No.715194684
It's kind of uncomfy. Not too bad a shape, but the dpad and stick are both less pleasant than they could be. Triggers feel nice and the face buttons are fine.

I bought one recently for my old DC and I'm amazed how well they hold up.

In isolation, it's not bad. But when you compare to the previous generation, you realize it was a downgrade. It had so many fighting games, but they threw away the perfect fighting layout!

I'll never get sick of colored translucent plastic electronic casings

The control stick is bad and face buttons are a little bit too low but its ok

the plastic handles on the back of the controllers were too sharp but yeah it was comfy

My only real complaint is that you hold it with your hands parallel from each other. After a few hours, you start to notice it. Wish it was more like every other controller ever made where your hands are bent slightly. Other than that I love the weight/feel and the VMU display is still cool and hasn't lost its novelty imo.

No, the controller is very cheap feeling and light without 2 VMU's, the triggers are overly spongy, the cord sticks out of the bottom which is very awkward and the controller is very prone to wear, anyone who's actually played a Dreamcast will tell how fast the d pad and face buttons will wear out.

This guy has clearly never been in the same room as a Dreamcast. Sega cut every corner imaginable on it. Genesis and Saturn controllers are tanks, DC is a paper airplane in comparison.

It's okay but I've long since swapped over to one of these, it even works with my arcade stick and can do the secret Capcom toggle. It also has a full memory card built-in so I can save without plugging a second controller in.

>Genesis and Saturn controllers are tanks, DC is a paper airplane in comparison.
tell that to my pile of busted genny and saturn 6-buttons, they're great controllers but not reliable
the stick and dpad are extremely resilient for the dc pad, especially compared to ps2 and even newer controllers

are there any adapters to use these controllers on the pc

What did the little mini thing in the middle do? I never seen a dreamcast in person to try it

They feel really light without the VMUs in them so I don't really like them. They're fine for games like Chu Chu Rocket though.
>>715201915
Held your saves and you could play little mini games on it.

if you don't have all the secret blocks unlocked for your vmus then you're a FAGGOT

It's the memory card and acts as a mini second screen depending on the game

THPS 1 it would give you compliments for every trick you landed and insult you if you bailed.

All the Resident Evil games and Dino Crisis it would display your health instead of having to go to the menu.

Sonic Shuffle it would show you all the cards you have on play

It was kinda like the pokewalker. Glorified memory stick that could sometimes play little black & white games on the screen.

I've had my Dreamcast for well over twenty years and the only thing I truly had a problem with was the Dpad.

I still have like 5 VMUs in my storage and 1 controller. I don't even know if my DC still works.

It was the memory card with a tiny lcd screen with some functions in some games.

Its sad that we have retards on this planet that think a controller is cheap because it feels light. That's what all controllers felt like becuse they weren't loaded features.

The screen sometimes showed you like secret moves, or like your HP, it depends on the dev. It also made sounds when you saved or loaded a file. When you disconnected it some games had mini games you could load into it. I think you could also connect them together to play against other people or trade save files.

It's ok. It's so irrelevant that no one makes Chinese copies.

>Just got one of these after 25+ years of not having one
>My dad sold my dreamcast as a kid, and finally sent me a replacement
>Version 0, so i can't install a GDEMU
>Came with jet grind radio inside
>Infinite loading screen past tutorial
>Check disk, moistly clean save for a FEW MOTHERFUCKING SMALL SCRATCHES but of course, on the inner portion FML...
>Only R/W DVD/CD Drive is internal and i don't feel like digging it out and plugging it into my pc to burn games
FUCKING HELL the AUTHENTIC dreamcast experience

This. I recall the Wii U pad and being surprised by how light the thing was for all it had within
Anonymous No.715213526
They feel fine in the hands. The biggest flaw is the d-pad. It baffles me why Sega didn't just reuse the Saturn d-pad. If you're playing fighting games, an arcade stick is mandatory.
