they are different stories basically, they don't don't even have the same characters - old one has way more routes, mirror moon translation is better than 99% of today's videogame excuses for localization, and it also has a sequel.

New one looks cool, some new characters, and the promise of maybe more later? I'm pissed that for so many years they promised "ohh sorry no sacchin route, but in the remake we can do her justice" - now we don't even have far side stories at all yet, let alone EXTRA routes that clearly had been planned at some point.

I advise mirror moon original version, love the music, and then come and join the seethe cavern when you realize what they took from you later.

Original.It has all of the 5 routes available from the getgo (Near side and Far side) and it has a surreal vibe to it. Albeit just remember that it's a early 2000s vn so it will show it's age if you're used to more modern ones but otherwise it's a enjoyable experience despite the tight budget it had.

Remake has it's share of criticism: Artstyle being different,Redesigns being a bit worse from a few characters,the scale reaching fgo levels now. But it's still pretty good despite what some might say:Fully voiced,some characters get expanded screentime now,new scenes and being slightly animated(Mahoyo style).Currently it only has the Near Side routes however,but if you want something more akin to modern stuff then it's a decent way to get into Tsukihime.

Alternatively you could read the manga,but only after reading all 5 routes though.It focuses on one route but it mixes in elements from the others that makes it a good adaptation.I consider it a extra route of the sort
