That's Bloodborne's plot in a first plathrough. No Moon Presence, no umbilical cords, no Cainhurst, no complications. You sought Paleblood and found it, you sought the newborn and slew him. You're shown how the night of the hunt is something that happens time and time again, how there's been other hunters that visited the dream before you and in the basic ending, you end up being just one more of those. You came, you "killed some beasts" like your boss told you to, and you left in the Waking World

The obfuscated stuff is great to experience and given that the game is pretty short, its easy to discover it on a second play through.
It also fleshes out the world well.
Cainhurst's connections to the Chalice Dungeons help explain what the fuck is going on with Yharnam in a deeper way.
Learning more about the Great Ones makes the story a lot easier to understand.

You are brought in to be a faceless hunter that kills a few beasts and honestly that is probably the best end for the game. You have a slight involvement in some grand war that you have no reason to want to comprehend, and you dip out at the end to go bang some whores and probably kill yourself, the old British past times.
But you can also learn more about the setting and plot that adds context, without changing the overall structure. Resisting the Moon Presence is a choice, not a necessity. It isn't necessarily even the best choice.

Particles and Vertex explosions are mostly fixed but since it's new emulation code it's quite slow and not optimized yet.
Personally I went from 55fps to about 18. But I do think with this code, incomplete as it is, everything about bloodborne they're at least emulating all of it. Now they can go through bugfixes and optimization.

having to pay up for blood vials is shit because it punishes you for fucking around where you're not supposed to be at yet
weapon variety also sucks
aesthetic and setting are 10/10 though and hunters look super cool, deserved a sequel but I doubt we'll ever get it
I also get annoyed over some bosses autistically screeching all the time but I get it, they're beasts/monsters
