My PC can't even run this shit. And why not remaster a game that actually needs it like that ugly shit Morrowind or outright remake Daggerfall and Arena?

Morrowind already has two remasters: OpenMW and MGE. If you want more content download Tamriel Rebuilt.
Daggerfall also has a remaster: Daggerfall Unity.

Exactly. People crying for “official” remasters forget the community already did Bethesda’s job better than they ever could. OpenMW lets you run Morrowind on a damn toaster and MGE makes it look good doing it. Tamriel Rebuilt is practically its own expansion. Meanwhile, Daggerfall Unity turned a DOSbox nightmare into a full-blown modern indie game with mods out the ass. If they announced “remasters,” they’d probably just upscale textures, add bugs, and slap another $60 price tag on it.

Oblivion was cheap to do. It was the lowest hanging fruit for them to reach for. They contracted an external studio to do it.
I imagine it was also an experiment to see if hooking up Creation Engine to UE5 could produce good results.

Anything older than Oblivion would have required a full remake. You can't just slap Morrowind with a coat of new paint. Gamers in 2025 will drop Morrowind the first time they speak to a NPC and get a full-screen sized window with enough text to require a scroll bar.

because Oblivion was also really popular with normalfags. Morrowind is still an autist game and most people don't even know Daggerfall and Arena exist.
