Unironically one of the greatest levels in gaming history. This level carries so much of Klonoa 2's atmosphere, narrative, and gameplay on its shoulders. It all comes together right there.

Why the fuck is ishras ark still flying fine at the start of this level?!
we destroyed all the engines in the previous level, it should be crashing and burning. literally what was the fucking point if the games plot is just going to ignore the previous Ark level ever happened?

And why does Lerorinas plan appear to have crash landed at the start of this level too?
Was there cut content or something? I've never seen an explanation for this.

and it flys well all through the arc level. I see no reason why it couldn't fly all the way over the ruins of sorrow.. but I guess they needed another level and didn't make a justification for why they landed.

It's no even on fire anymore in that level intro. it's like we did nothing. the entire end of the game seems rushed.
-It's like they forgot the ark revisited was a thing when they made that cutscene
-there's no transition to explain how they got from the end of the ruins of sorrow to the forgotten path
-the random ball of ribbons moster you fight in the hover board void (again no transition to explain how you got here). it's titled "king of sorrow" but it's clearly not.
I thought it might be a controllable monster used to remotely puppet Baguji but after you beat it the king behaves as if you damaged him directly.

The Ark opened the way to the fifth Kingdom it would have been unreachable otherwise.

If I remember correctly that floating ribbon ball was Baguji's getup, who was revealed to be the King of Sorrow. There's plenty of shit that the games doesn't really explain.

Like what the entire deal with Sorrow's saltiness is. He's like a Ghadius with no backstory at all.

It's possible that King of Sorrow IS the 5th Element: Sorrow.
It was being hidden from Lunatea and so it took a personified form and called out to the dream traveler for help.

-KoS is the only other character in the game that uses Klonoas Language
-KoS has Klonoas VA
-Kos is based Klonoas design from the first game.

It represents Klonoas sorrow from the first game and it's symbolic of Klonoa accepting it in this game.
Whether everyone who looks at KoS sees Something different or it just chose that form after calling Klonoa is unclear.

I think of this as a new race being born due to sorrows power, to inhabit the 5th kingdom now that it's reconnected to the world.
