Yeah, Atelier games are generally released in trilogies, where the story starts with the first game, the second game will be set a couple years after the end of the first, and then the third game is a couple years after the second.
It's one of my favorite things about the series, seeing the protagonist from game 1 grow from a complete novice to an experienced teacher who teaches the protagonist from the next game. also why i wasn't a big fan of Ryza, they relied too much on Ryza's popularity at the expense of the series's appeal.
