I won't cite Kain because I don't think any of his games are enjoyable to play but his voice work is amazing. Also there hasn't been a good mainstream vampire game in fucking forever, holy shit.

The only vampire game I really enjoyed was Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines.
The fact this game exists at all, and is arguably the best RPG ever made, is nothing short of a miracle.

Bloodrayne is kind of fucking jank and that first boss is a good example, you're supposed to cut its legs off and then hit it while it's stunned, repeat, but because it lumbers around so much and there's so little of the arena that's not in water (or boats immediately destroyed by the boss) it becomes a crapshoot as to whether you'll kill it before you get nudged to death or trapped in the death water.

Yes, they're pretty obviously intended to be traditional vampires even in a game where ingesting blood is the assumed default for everyone. I really wish Cainhurst and the Vilebloods had been more than just an aside that exists adjascent to the main plot rather than part of it and only really exists to justify the dedicated PvP covanents. It was really underutilized, even if Maria is tied into it there's not much else to it beyond the surface level shit and her blood techniques.

I liked all of Bloodrayne except the vehicle section and the last boss because I never had enough ammo to do it without cheats. Yes I know the soldier in there can pick up guns and refill ammo but I couldn't handle it.
Doing the jump somersault slash and knocking limbs off everything the entire game was really fun though.

Vampire games are rare unfortuantely but I had fun with Vampire the Masquerade and adored Blood Omen. BloodRayne 1 and 2 were prettty jank and shame the WayForward game controls as terribly as it does.

i wish there were more vampire games in the '90s goth style like bloodrayne and vtmb

At least Hellsing has an alright PS2 game, but Blade should've been an easy 7.5/10 title. Literally just copy DMC. Even if it's Vergil in black-face, with Wesley doing VA work, I'd shill for that if it's fun.

anything novel, from costumes, to mode changes, to even behind the scenes developer stuff is DLC if it's not on a remaster. And even some remasters are tied to FOMO pre-order deals.

I remember second trying this boss as a kid.
You just suck at videogames mate.

In fact the only part of the game I got stuck on for any meaningful amount of time was the very first level.
Not because it was hard, but because I didn't realize that Rayne needed to vertical leap onto a powerline and walk along it to enter the next level.
