Armoured Core, although AC3 is technically the 6th game, and it’s definitely not true if you count first 3 releases instead of numbered titles.

Argument could definitely be made for Timesplitters, although TS2 is much more iconic and lots of people forget Future Perfect exists, but it’s very similar game just with way better controls and more content. Future Perfect’s mission objectives are a bit more bland and linear, but honestly a lot of 2’s missions arnt great, people just remember the 10/10 first mission in Siberia. Future Perfect actually having a story goes a long way in making it feel like a complete game rather than 9 random demo missions and then shoving entire story into the 10th.

If Sly 3 had another year of Dev time, this would be true. But it’s woefully incomplete. The whole ending section is a rush job of mini games instead of actual big hiest. You spend whole game recruiting people to help with hiest, and then they barely get used, Panda King isn’t even playable in final chapter. Plus the complete removal of collectibles makes the open world aspect feel completly dead, there’s litterally nothing to do except sprint to next mission start.

I guess you’re a fan of shitty vehicle games and not platformers, because over 50% of crash 3 is gimmick levels. And the platforming levels are completly trivialised by Double Jump, Tornado Spin and Bazooka letting you bypass all enemies and platforming with 0 effort.

I'm in the minority, but Timesplitters. I know 3 had a few downgrades gameplay wise compared to 2, but 3's story is a lot more memorable and having online multiplayer + map sharing on Xbox was awesome.

3 is mediocre as fuck. You mash A and sometimes press B for super, maybe cast a buff spell if someone has any, that's the whole game. Backtracking is also a pain in the ass because you're forced to enter combat with every random encounter, and your only option to not engage is to attempt to slowly shuffle your way to the next screen.

1 is stiff and horrifically unbalanced
2 is more refined than 1 in all ways, but has terrible weapon tuning for half the sandbox
3 has almost perfect weapon balance(for a bungie game; there is still an obvious hate-boner for automatic weapons) and fantastic levels, with every difficulty being fun and fair to play; its only flaw is being somewhat short, but it doesn't feel near as truncated as Reach.
