The Dualsense is a downgrade and the dualshock 4 will always be the perfect playstation controller.

Why can't Sony make a controller with more than 3 hours of battery life?

This garbage is extremely prone to stick drift

DS5 is too big for men with small hands and ladies. I cramp up after an hour minimum. DS4 was perfect, gamed 8+ hours zero pain but I frequently read it was the opposite for large hands. I wish they would just give size options so this could be a thing of the past. Why can’t they just give size options?

i almost thought this thread was a joke

dualshock 4 is for tiny asian hands

dualsense is perfect for western hands

If you could mod USB C onto a DS4 I would agree. Barring that one change, nope it's inferior.

The placement of the touchpad and whatever the fuck those Start and Select buttons are being called now is much better on the Dualsense than the DS4, but it's still obnoxious as fuck that we even have that colossal waste of space to begin with. Most modern games don't even support the pad anyway beyond just replicating what the buttons do, and the detection zone of which button is being emulated depending on where you press it is laughably bad. Why does Sony think this needs to be their "gimmick" for controllers now?

You're correct. The Dualsense is a defective piece of shit. I've owned 5 and all of them have stick drift to some degree.

>DS4 is basically perfect as a traditional controller
>They know that they're going to release a VR headset with their console again
>They don't take the chance to just put all their R&D into making their default controller into a solid VR controller that is still capable of traditional gaming
>Instead they just make an overdesigned DS4 refresh with more points of failure and a lackluster VR controller, all so that their next gen console with no games can look even more like a fake concept render and people can pretend it didn't exist in the next 2-3 years when the PS5 ahem PS6 comes out.
Why did they do it?
>>715265282
Who knows? A touchpad is better and more versatile than the right analog stick, but not in that position.

VR is dead and gay. Anyone spending any money chasing that market is doomed to failure. My only two complaints with the dualsense is that on PC you only get all the good features if you hardwire it and the fact it doesn't take AA batteries.

If it wasn't because of the Drift it would be an outright upgrade.

I have both a DS4 and a DS5, my DS4 is from 2015 and the motherfucker only "flaw" is that the R2 trigger is already failing and some emulators don't recognize it, I bought my DS5 December 2023 and I can't already use it because of the drift, but it is so superior that is a fucking shame.

I always forget it's a button. I would love so much for controllers to have a nice obvious centralised start button like the N64 controller again.
Now we have four "options buttons", and one of the is going to take a screen shot of my game when I don't want it to.

Lol, the plastic housing is so cheap it scratches from just holding it. The Gyro in it is complete trash. These are overrated because some of the components are decent but they cheap out wherever they can.

it's all the extra gimmicks they put into their controllers. they'd need a 6000 mAh battery or better if they want to have the switch pro's longevity.
