>>715267637Splinter Cell is extremely linear. It isn't until Chaos Theory that the levels open up, and even then it's not like Thief. Every area in Splinter Cell feels like a puzzle the devs specifically set up where you have 1-2 guards to deal with. I think it lends itself way more to ghosting because of this.
In Thief the guards move in and out of tons of rooms in a gigantic area and there are a LOT more guards in Thief. Ghosting is a really good way to make the game tedious, because it wasn't designed for that. Just the act of getting around without being detected itself is the challenge.
