Yet we see constant threads about it here, often in comparison to a Switch or Switch 2. These devices are not even competing with each other. I had one, used it once or twice and then sold it. I don't leave my house enough to use something like that.

I do own a steam deck OLED, but its underpowered. It can only play indie games and older games over 60fps.

But I'm not a poorfag so I dont really care that much about it since it plays 40-50 fps on most demanding games.

I'll just sell it when they announce deck 2 and pay the difference.

I did the same thing with the deck OLED except I knew it was coming out before hand from an inside source, so I sold my deck LCD and payed $80 difference.

If I get word from my source that the deck 2 is coming out next year I'll probably sell mine in advance

I have an RTX3090 and 90% of the games I play on Steam would run on a Steam Deck. That includes new games. But again, I don't consume AAA games. Maybe in the mindset of someone who buys the newest console to consume the latest blockbuster, your reasoning makes some sense. But even for console users, this reality is no longer present. Look how long it took for the PS5 user base to surpass that of the PS4 on PSN. Even 5 years after the release of the new console, half of PSN users continued to use the old console, which strongly indicates that upgrading is no longer so essential even for console owners.

This doesn’t always necessitate new hardware, especially if you don’t care about AAA slop… and I certainly do not; I don’t like ugly black protagonists or tranny shit in video games. The deck couldn’t really play some of the newest AAA slop back when it was released. I got a used OLED one in perfect condition for cheap but I’d say it still feels very experimental. I mainly got it to play visual novels, for anything more recent it's not that great and I’d much rather play newer games on a bigger screen.

I bought the steam controller and the that steam device that plugs into your tv. Both were shit and a waste of money. I dont trust vavle to make very good hardware. Theyre a software company and should stay one.
