>>715292378This gets into one of the more irritating things which is the way the writing for a lot of the S-Links straight up agrees with shitty behavior or however you'd say it. What I mean is take Ryuji's for example and the way the other characters and Ryuji himself constantly go on about how wrong he was for punching Kamoshida despite the fact that Kamoshida BROKE HIS FUCKING LEG just to make an example of him. But Ryuji is the asshole for fighting back against a guy who BROKE HIS FUCKING LEG and Ryuji, the other track team guys and the game agrees that Ryuji was in the wrong for it because "durr you made things hard for everyone else by doing it". Or Ann's where Mika just openly admits to committing fraud and sabotage to boost her career and all that happens is everyone going "aww shucks" while Ann gushes over how cool and strong she is for it... I mean, what?
Futaba's friend's parents being all good because of a change of heart despite the literal years of sexually exploiting and whoring out their underage daughter. The fact it essentially endorses the idea that Mishima is pathetic and deserved all the bullying he received simply because he's not cool like Joker Stu. And that's contrasted by everyone moaning about how Akechi is just a poor wittle victim of SHITTY ADULTS despite the fact he was a narcissistic psychopath who's directly responsible for untold amounts of death, destruction, injuries and public panic and who is also directly responsible for the deaths of two of the party members' parents.
It's just fucking weird. It's like "stad up and fight against an unjust society... but only in a way that said unjust society deems acceptable and also you better have Chad traits or else you're a fucking loser who deserves every bad thing that happens to you."
