Seems like you're the ADHD one if you drop a game just because you get something OP right at the start instead of exploring the game.

Refund, 3 or 4 are better. iRacing or Assetto Corso cater for OCD boomers

no, I disliked it because all the cars feel the same. like you can be in a Volkswagen bug and tune it up to 999 X and it will outperform a stock supercar. the actual physics and driving fucking sucks but Motorsport is no better and they just abandoned that game.

MY problem with Forza Horizon 5 (which extends from 4) is that they don't care about single player as much as the "social driving experience".

The original Forza Horizon was quite good at having a solid single player campaign with balanced progression. Every game afterwards shits supercars on you from the first moment.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer is the other best racing game I've played this year but I do generally prefer a bit of sim in the driving model or it gets too easy too fast

The progression is inverted. Supercars are for toddlers, going slow is where all the fun is at.

Different races and events have different car requirements.
You cant use your single supper car in all the content any event or race you do in your super car will be exclusively vs other supper cars.
Most of-road races dont let you use Supercars.

The game is designed for you to drive whatever you like driving, not to gatekeep expensive cars.

Forza has no progression but at the same time you can do all of the races in the game besides a few showcase races with any class of car you want.

Supercars have so much downdraft that they stick to the ground like the are magnetized to it and can take curves at 200 mph like it's nothing.
There's fun to be found in that but sometimes it feels like you are playing Mario Kart.

I always see people criticize Forza's progression as being ADHD zoomer bait but if you need that Ferrari dangled in front of your face to make you keep playing then that's on you. The fast cars aren't the ultimate reward of the game. 5 sucks though, I can't get into it at all. I still have 4 installed.

What filtered me was the constant abhorrent voicelines, I thought NFS Unbound's was obnoxious with the in race quips but this felt like a non-stop barrage of bad dialog.

for me it's not so much about the rewards as the sense of progression
i like that winning and doing well means i can upgrade my car or buy a faster car and compete for more money to do it more
i do not enjoy wheelspinning and getting twelve cars and lods of emone to buy a paganni fagotti or whatever or fifty shitboxes
i don't hate it but it isn't a fulfilling system
horizon feels like it's for people who enjoy the idea of cars more than racing or cars themselves
it's the fantasy of "i own every car" instead of "this is my car and i'm damn fast in it"

you just need to modify a few lines in an .ini file, no big deal, otherwise you'll get flickering etc
I last played it in 2023 I don't remember exactly what is was but a quick google search should tell you all you need, xenia also improved massively since then, for instance the box underneath the car you can see in these screens is gone
as for performance, emulating 1 at 1080p 75hz was as demanding for my pc as running 4's pc version maxed out at 4k 75hz - 3700x / 3080

Horizon 1 is the best one. It was the fourth one I played, so it's not nostalgia.
1 > 3 > 2 >>>>> 5 > 4
(I will say however that 4's Fortune Island expansion is the best expansion in the series)
