As a teen, I believed that nothing would top FF7 and FF10.
But as an adult, my tastes changed... FF7 and FF10 i still consider very good games, but I like FF6, FF9, FF12 much more.

Why is this?

I first played FF as an adult and 10 and 6 are my favorites

6 has a better story. 9 has a good story and a really flashed out world with ton to explore. 12 was the first to go beyond the power of friendship to kill god. You had to fight what might as well have been a faceless wall of civilized tyranny, along with a better story and side content that stands at the top of what the series has done.
On that note if you are ever down to play. Ff7 again id recommend new threat. There is just enough change in parts that makes it so much better.

All 3 have the best exploration in the series, so does FF7 as well I guess.
FF10 is insanely juvenile and everyone's fucking retarded, so I'm guessing your tastes changed from story focused to character focused?
