You're playing as Bloodborne Pinocchio, dude. He's modeled after a teen boy, which is old enough to realistically kick ass, but young enough to allude to the story of a puppet wanting to be a real boy. This is the one instance where playing as a immaculate pretty boy teen at least makes sense.

You must be shit posting, because the world, gameplay, and atmosphere of LoP are easily a cut above 95% of of souls likes, and that includes actual souls games like Dark Souls 2 and 3.
The Arche Abbey climax genuinely made me give a shit about this game's story now, even though i started not giving a shit thinking it was only generic. Everything from the Black Beach sequence onwards to the very end with the Nameless Puppet was fucking kino.

Honest dogshit opinion. I'm not even mentioning how shit I think the entire cadaver enemies or areas are or how disappointing the final area is.
Whichever retard decided that the cool puppets and belle epoque aesthetic in favour of blue zombies and rundown swamps/villages should be killed.
The alchemist enemies themselves are cool steam/teslapunk stuff which seems like natural evolution of the aesthetic but the areas you find them in just fucking suck.

Decent. Most of the boss fights were fine, though a few were cunts.
Mixed bag as far as levels go, the zoo was fun, the laboratory not so much.
Weapons and arms were all great.
If you like the base game, you'll like the DLC.

Because the puppets, while cool, are a red herring and just a roadblock towards adressing the actual problem affecting the residents of Krat. Stalkers have no problem fucking up puppets, but there's a goddamn life ending plague going on, and on top of that some assholes making the plague even worse (zombies).
