Chronologically, I quit after Syndicate since the series was not feeling worth my time after that installment. Re-played the Ezio trilogy just last month, though, and the first 2 kinda hold up. Revelations was far worse than I remembered, and Brotherhood is 80% sidequest

The first game being the only one to care about the concepts that made the IP intriguing is a bummer

Odyssey. Played it years back, and had fun. Playing it again recently, I can see how lackluster it is. The game does a great job at engrossing you with its gameplay loop, but once you see it for what it is, it's very shallow. If it were not for the pretty world, it'd be even more of a slog to play.

Origins is better in nearly every facet, and does not overstay its welcome.

Either Unity or Origins, I genuinely don't know for sure.

AssCreed games becames such insanely bland sludges that I honestly can't remember anything about playing them other than a very, very vague memory of the setting's visual representation.
I picked up Origins and Unity, after entirely ignoring the whole franchise since AssCreed 3 was announced, purely because I absolutely love anything ancient Egypt and Revolutionary France related, they are such great and fascinating settings to explore. I figured - hell, I won't enjoy the game for more than 6 hours, but it's still worth for the bit of virtual tourism alone, since you know... torrents are free.

But to be frank, I think the games failed even at that in the end. The one and only thing they are actually still prized for, the visual representation of these historical periods, is SO fucking surface level, so flat, and frankly, just... not really well executed and researched.

So yeah. Somewhere along the last four years, I do remember wondering through the streets of Alexandria and Paris in AssCreed game, feeling profoundly disappointed with both.

And that is genuinely all I remember about the total sum of my experiences with AssCreed games since... 2012 or so? When was AssCreed 3 announced again?
