Why have so many remakes and remasters come out in recent years? There have always been remakes and remasters, but it feels like the number has been increasing.

There is genuinely an untapped market for it, a ton of these games came out at a time were the only people playing games were nerds or kids who could only afford a few
It also let's them have an entire series on one device rather than multiple so people can play through them
