games require hardware, so while everyone has played video games at some point they may not have a good system for it now and cant play the games they're interested in

its easy to talk about whatever nonsense you absorbed through osmosis from tiktok or pol or w/e, but playing a video game takes like dozens of hours. Its a lot of work.

As for why they are here even though they don't play games? It's because this board has no moderation, extrinsic or intrinsic. There is absolutely no system punishing this behavior. Moderators gave up, and most active posters actively CRAVE this environment.

It's a perfect environment to serve as surrogate social media, when most mainstream social media would either ban you for being too much of a shit, or confront you with people having success in their life, thus making you insecure.

/v/ is full of miserable people, with nobody forcing discussion to stay on topic or maintaining certain level of quality, without being entirely taken over by trollfarms.

A lot of users around here are literally part of troll farms getting paid to spread bullshit. The rest are literal poorfags who can't afford games or the hardware to run them. The number of regular posters here who actually buy and play games and share real opinions is actually very small, this is true for most social media platforms.
