First of all, finally achieved what seemed like the impossible - got the fucking Master Sword. Game is immediately 200% more kino. No more stress about weapons. Use Master Sword for most things, save best elemental weapons for the right time, life is good.

Bought out the heat gear shop, upgrading all my armor to level two thanks to the new fairy I found, and recently conquered the labyrinth isle and got the diamond helm and DLC medal.

Life is GOOD. This game is fucking awesome. Cannot express to you how boss it felt to find the Master Sword on my own with no outside of game help, other than being told I need 13 hearts to pull it. Feels fucking great to slice those bastard guardians back to whence they came.

I now understand why this is so widely regarded as one of the best games of all time. Takes a few hours but it sucks you in.

Playing Tears of the Kingdom after dropping it on Switch 1 due to Switch 2 rumours, the experience is just so much better on Switch 2 it completely elevated Tears of the Kingdom for me and would probably do the same with Breath of the Wild, I just wish they pushed out docked mode performance to hit full 4k.

But knowing it was upgraded for switch 2 I gave it another shot (especially since everyone’s been fellating it for the past decade) and wow - I got it this time. I've been playing TOTK recently and it seems to me that BOTW is the superior game.
It's incredible how they managed to fix the durability problem by making good weapons easier to acquire (you can just fuse shitty ones with good items), but fuck up the entire combat (around the middle of the map there are red and blue enemies that deal half a heart of damage, step a little further away from the middle of the map and there's black bokoblins everywhere that can oneshot you even if you have 10 hearts and armor).
The dungeons are incredibly boring and handheldy, it unironically makes me miss Fi nagging at you on skyward sword, at least that game had good dungeons.
The way they force the companions on you is annoying as hell too. It's like they saw Wind Waker with you throwing Medli over a gap in the first dungeon and said "lets make a dungeon where you have to throw Medli over gaps and that is the only puzzle of the dungeon".
The world itself is mostly the same, and I was pretty disappointed with the underworld. It being unlit means absolutely nothing because you can see the red patches that deal damage and every enemy in the dark, also there's an abscense of biomes there, making it incredibly boring to explore.

I never thought it was really worth stressing about weapons at all. Once you've got a few inventory upgrades you'll have enough to keep some utility/elemental weapons around and a good collection of shit to whip around however you want. It's just about impossible to go negative on weapons unless you're actively fucking about trying to waste durability. Especially after the difficulty spikes up nearly everything there is to kill drowns you in more weapons that are as or just about as good to the point where I was constantly looking for excuses to break shit.
