I feel like in the early 2000s you could have been a NEET by choice, but today its almost impossible to get a job that will allow you to move out and be self sufficient. Everyone I know who works is depressed and this includes a guy with his own place and GF. The country is funded and there's no good games to past the time

I was only a neet for 2 years of my life.
From age 17-19. Year 2003-2006. I was kicked out of high school my senior year (still able to graduate, just needed to go to summer school for one class) due to an incident.
I played nearly every JRPG from NES to PS2. I was gaming like 12 hours a day. Never left the house. I ordered pizza probably once every 3 days.
It was the happiest time in my life honestly. I went to college, had to dropout early due to my college fund being drained thanks to the 2008 crash. Been working ever since. Take me back.

I was hired by Alorica and only stayed an agent for three months. I fluffed my stats with shenanigans to make myself look good and nailed an interview for a team lead position.

From there it was Team Lead> Team manager> QA> QA Manager> QA director for a different company.

Never really been Hikikomori but I lost my job when Persona 5 came out so played that a lot. Also played a lot of MGSV during that time. Both games still give me a weird sense of nostalgia even though it hasn't been that long.
