Because they don't want a Skyrim situation. While Skyrim is not an online game, it's an apt comparison. Bethesda hates that a large portion of its consumer base is still playing modded Skyrim instead of buying their latest slops. Companies don't want their consumers playing their old games when they can't make money off it.

>>715346534 Literally all they would have to do is make new expansion to the old game. Which is easier and cheaper than making a brand new game. Bethesda could have easily pushed out few more expansions for skyrim which also would have fed that modbase even more too.

>>715346786 Funny how it's basically a crime to notice who owns the media in a country. I live in a small country with less than a handful of people belonging to the mentioned "community", yet they own the media and financial institutions. Can't blame anyone for starting to asking questions.

>>715346534 >Bethesda hates that a large portion of its consumer base is still playing modded Skyrim instead of buying their latest slops then why did they re-release the game like 28 times?
>>715346230 (OP) TF2 had a sourcemod server ran by horrible people but the mod was Starcraft 2 themed with a bunch of custom races and skills.
Some of the later, much harder classes to unlock had crazy overpowered skills (like a custom grenade that you could literally lob into a concentrated area of players and no one could really see the grenade that did insane DOT). I miss that server aside from the drama it created.
