It's a shame. If owlcat actually sat down and properly finished their games they'd be one of my favourite devs.
They clearly have passion for what they do and have done a lot of cool stuff but they can't put out a polished product to save their lives.
It's only going to get worse now that they're spread across so many projects at once.
Also expanse looks bland af. If they're gonna make a big space rpg they should have made a new ip instead of using some lame TV show.

I never heard of the Expanse until Owlcat announced they were making a game of this literal who IP only redditors and boomers care about. Looking into it, it seems like watered down sci-fi with nothing of the thing that makes sci-fi interesting.
I hope it flops hard and the Dark Heresy game also. So they can go back to making good games like Pathfinder 3.

I believe this is one of the Space games Casey Hudson really loved and is said to have often mentioned to colleagues during development, so it all checks out. The general issue with 3's ending being so out of place with everything is how it tries to wrap up the entire narrative in loosely based concepts from other game finales, including Deus Ex (the first one), Freespace 2 and that game.
In a lot of areas Mass Effect is charming in how it takes obvious bits from The Right Stuff and other Flight/Space/Doomsday movies from the 80s and 90s, but towards the end the trilogy really does have a narrative of its own that it's meant to close out. By basing the concepts of 3's ending around stories that came from the outside, they ended up imposing a message over the trilogy that didn't belong there, about "Organic life & Synthetic life", and it just feels inauthentic to itself.
