No. "Muh all killer no filler" crowd are drooling retards who want to clap at a cutscene and then put the game away. 100 hours of actually good gameplay >>>> 20 hours of "muh tight narrative"

No. Your choices are either:
1. infinite grind live service slop
2. 15 hour indie game trying and (failing) to be a SNES game

Option 1 has sexy anime girls. Option 2 was drawn and animated by someone who grew up using Gaia Online and Tumblr as a replacement for having an actual social life.

Depends. Trails is garbage and the latest games reach 100hrs. Dragon Quest VII is good and it's also a 100hrs game.
Final Fantasy IV is good and it's a 20~25hrs game. Xenosaga Episode II is garbage and it's a 20~25hrs game.

Most gamers (especially casuals like the average /v/ user) speed through games ASAP so they can finish and be part of the online discussion.

during gen 6 games were plentiful and most were short, so when you finished a game there were plenty of others to play

I typically start getting burnt out of the game around 35-40 hours mark. So yeah, i will take a great 20 hour experience over something overly drawn out.
There are some exceptions though, Astlibra had like 70 hours of content in it an i just devoured all of it like i would devour Kuro's tits.
