People always talk about Aerith and especially Tifa all the time as being the best girls in FF7, but hardly anyone talks about Yuffie as much. Why is that?

I find Yuffie interesting in concept.

An understated part of FF7 is how Shinra deletes history. Jessie remarks on how Midgar USED to be a collection of villages but no one remembers their names. Corel USED to be a mining village. But it was burned down for spurious reasons and Gold Saucer was built over it, sponsored by Shinra Inc. Hey anybody remember when Nibelheim burned down? I don't. Even the entire Northern Continent had its name changed

Yeah. It was Knowlespole 2000 years ago. But now it's "Icicle Area" and "Bone Village." Hence Yuffie. Yuffie was gathering Materia hoping to break Shinra's hold on Wutai. In OG Shinra already crushed Wutai. They're a tourist trap that entertains their conquerors. In Remake Wutai are still defending themselves. If Shinra keeps Wutai, how long will it be before Wutai loses its name too? Yuffie is a brat and an irritant but she's not wrong

It'd be kind of a shame because remake's English voice acting's actually been quite good so far. Appropriate levels of cheese, not too much anime "HUH? UH? RUGH?" in the background, etc. Hoping I'll like her if for no other reason than I enjoy how all the characters feel different in combat so I'm looking forward to getting new characters to play with.
