More than half of the main planets aren't about monsters, even then where do you draw the line between a monster and an alien? For example the Rachni are already established well before you see them, and finding out that's what they are (instead of generic lab monsters) is a cool twist. Would you prefer not to have aliens in the space game? I'd agree they shoved too many zombie variants into it though.
