playing through Judgement right now, the story is really good but goddamn RGG's game design is absolutely dogshit. First game in a long time where I turned it to easy so I could just enjoy "playing" it. I knew what I was getting into though, really just wanted a long TV show and it has delivered for that. You would think they would get better at the "gameplay" part the more games they make though

How don't they? They're all third person angles from heights or street level. It's like paparazzi with celebs.

The V-tuber gets explained later, but is dumb as fuck.

The RPG gameplay is slightly improved but you mostly play these games for the story let's be honest

The writing is the worst it's ever been.
The minigames suck.
The big moneymaking minigame sucks.
Most of the substories suck and are completely forgettable.
Didn't do enough to fix the problems with the turn-based gameplay.

i think the issue for me is that i realized i was playing the games as virtual tourism
when you set the game in hawaii i don't care because i'm from america

i guess man. it's the only explanation i have for why i enjoyed 7 but bounced off of 8 and pirate yakuza.
i think i'd enjoy a judgment 3 but it feels less and less likely that we're going to see it.
