she's now a shibito (undead person controlled by a God). She wanted to reunite with her parents but she died before she could reach them. By the time she does (because the red rain revives everyone, but also contaminates them), she is already a shibito, and her parents being completely scared, scream at her to shoo her away, which she does with sorrow. Later on, her parents decided to submerge in the red water and become shibito to reunite with her.
By the end you see them playing happy family and doing basic chores.

it has better navigation and more explanatory goals and tutorials, while also being as challenging as the first game.
Meanwhile the first game relies on very obscure puzzle solving (pic related) and vague descriptions about what to do.

filtered, while it's true that Siren 1 has some stupid obtuse puzzles, it has a much heavier atmosphere than the second one, the second game starts with a segment where you have a assault rifle and gun down zombies and the anime schoolgirl with an UZI, it's ridiculous and a lot sloppier compared to the first, which has one of the best horror atmosphere's in any game ever.

The difficulty of these games are seriously overstated. The mission based structure balances it out.
