Capcom has rescinded the "Official" status of a Japanese Monster Hunter content creator.
As overall reviews for Wilds was maintained at Mixed since launch, and then with recent reviews having reached Overwhelmingly Negative, Karasuma A — an infamous Japanese "kusoge-hunter" — went through his routine of playing the game to then edit a humorous video that summarized the game and his thoughts, and in summary:
>"not a kusoge, however the now-global expectations were not met [...] a situation akin to Biohazard 6"
>lack of content perhaps due to a focus on expensive (though enjoyable) story cutscenes
>the wound system netting a high amount of damage and materials (also from quests) which can further damage the sense of volume
>"Arkveld Online" being the entirety of endgame with Artian stuff just being fractional improvements
>PC version not being postponed for those months of straight optimizations, in chasing (impressive) sales figures
Despite not seeming overly negative, in a highly unusual move, comments had been disabled on said video, prompting suspicion of potential pressure from Capcom after enacting their "Customer Harassment" policy.
Following this, a MH-focused content creator — Nabezou — was reprimanded and stripped of being an "Official Capcom Creator".
Seemingly, Nabezou had been making a few videos addressing Wilds' current situation previously, but it's now suspected that his appearance and collaboration on Karasuma's video is what prompted Capcom to rescind his "Officiality", and use of "Official" in titles, thumbnails and mirror streams.
