Why the fuck didn't Ethan contact the FBI before going after Mia BY HIMSELF? She had been missing for YEARS, he got a message from her and just drove there alone. Did Ethan have no other family or friends where he could tell "Hey, I got this letter from Mia and I don't know what's going on but I'm going to Dulvey, Louisiana myself to see if this is a hoax, so if I don't call you by tomorrow and let you know what happened could you make sure I'm OK?"

There, then the game's plot doesn't happen. Seriously, the only law enforcement we get in this game dies immediately. Why did no other law enforcement investigate the missing / dead cop? Wouldn't the cop have radio'd back to HQ what he was doing / where he was as he was investigating the Baker mansion? Wouldn't him not reporting back to the station trigger a search for this missing cop immediately? What about the cop's family, wouldn't they notice that he didn't come home and call the police to figure out what happened to him thus starting a search for him at the Baker mansion immediately?

Also, how did no one in the USA notice that there was a missing, massive LNG tanker washed up on the gulf coast? No boats passing by saw the beached broken up LNG tanker and radioed it in? No environmental agency cordoned off the area to control a massive environmental disaster that would ensue if an LNG tanker was beached and possibly leaking on the coastline? Where the fuck is the US government in this game, do they just not exist?

Also, the house having a basement in general is funny as a person from Louisiana, we don't have basements here, you build something a few feet underground and you will hit the water table, that basement would fill up with water even if you had pumps running 24/7. The game also had a mine, which was less offensive because salt dome mines do exist here, just not anything like what is shown in the game.
