Back when Nihon Falcom could make interesting and appealing games. While neither are perfect, I feel they would be the flawed wonky first outing and each subsequent game would build upon the last. But alas, they never got sequels.

Their only modern system ports are to Steam, not any modern console.

You should feel bad for praising Gurumin without having played Gurumin 1.5 (and I speak as someone who 100% both games, FUCK the RNG-based bromides in Zwei 1 though) But yeah, I miss pre-Trailshit Falcom so fucking much.

both of those got their original Japanese stripped, so I don't even count those as complete releases

Xanadu Next oughta get a Switch 2 port with that mouse add-on. Wish more people would give the original Xanadu a try as well, it's fantastic.

I almost want to say taht Nihon Falcom was moving towards a more Nintendo or L5 kind of direction -family friendly cute adventures. They didn't have the money or budget or backing though. I find a lot of their post 2009 fare to be pretty soulless. They actually hit a rennaisance in the 00's for some reason before dropping off.
