if I was an indie dev, I would take the concept of amy's hammer interacting with the environment and just run with it. just slap the best parts of her moveset from all 3 advance games.
boosting extra high from hitting springs with the hammer, a ground pound (can be rolled on slope impact), a small air dash that extends jump range because it stops your fall, and maybe work in her advance 1 spindash replacement.
then just make the character look more original so you can sell the game, BAM, easy money
