Anonymous No.715414834 >>715414986
>>715411714
First party controllers have fallen prey to the snap-on effect; where previously you could be assured that the build quality was high the businesses have long since decided to capitalise on the brand trust and instead cut production costs. There are N64 and PS1/2 controllers that still work as good as they did the day they left the factory but there's modern controllers that get stick drift in less than a year. People are already reporting stick drift on the Switch 2. We already know exactly how to design a rock solid controller that will outlast the consoles they're made for but it costs 1 cent less to instead use parts that are touted as being 'higher efficiency' and 'more accurate' but leave out the fact that they'll be dead within two years; there's even more money to be made if you're selling shovels to people on a yearly basis, why make a controller that will last decades?

We're at the point now that some companies make controllers that are designed with that obsolescence in mind with hotswappable joystick modules that require no soldering. The parts are implicitly so bad that companies instead sell you replacement ones, once again making them even more money. Chinkshit might be chinkshit but it's still a better roll of the dice than trusting Microsoft not to fuck you over with one of their controllers becoming unusable within a year's time. What's cheaper? Buying a full price official console controller once every year or two or spending a quarter of that on some chinese knockoff shit that still uses hall effect sensors for joysticks and maybe it lasts three times longer than the official ones?

It's a software issue too.
Old consoles do re-center on boot / plugging or unplugging etc..
The PS2 and PS3 controllers use the same tech as the modern ones, but these consoles will recalibrate shit because they know it wears out.

Find the right strength of solvent. Depending on how the logo and brand name were applied to the plastic, it may not be possible.
The letters/logo may be part of the coating (or is negative space, as in the plastic is white and the blue gradient is the only coloration), meaning a harsher solvent like acetone would tarnish that blue gradient.
Or the letters are set into the plastic, so even if you remove the white, you'll still have the letters ever so shallowly engraved into it, like the letters on the charging base below.

First try a mild abrasive magic eraser and/or isopropyl alcohol swabbing, go at it for several minutes.
Alternatively, get one of the custom faceplates that controller has. There are some white plates with the logo that is clearly printed on, that would be easier to remove and prevent any effects of tarnish.
You may even be better off taking the plate off and spraypainting it, customize it yourself and cover over the logo.

Nope, just overlaid it over a DS4 and the shape is identical. Sticks and shoulder buttons are exactly the same distance apart. Grips are of an identical shape and length. The sir is annoyingly tilted backwards a bit in its promotional shots while all photos of the DS4 are head-on so can't confirm that it is a 100% copy but it looks like an exact copy when it comes to the shape of the shell and layout of the buttons.

The dpad is a compromise. The standard for 2D and fighting games was the arcade stick and early consoles had sticks instead of pads because that was the standard. The dpad is just a cost saving solution later consoles came up with. In this day and age there's absolutely no reason for an enthusiast to continue using a pad over stick for 2D games.
