That's clearly not it because Ubisoft has mastered making the same game 1000 times, and it makes their games boring as fuck. From's formula might be getting a little stale but their games are still fun and worth playing.
The more I think about it, the more I realize it's just because they didn't forget what an actual video game is. Same thing for Nintendo actually. From games are like NES games that got prettied up with a bunch of bells and whistles, but that makes them work.

I like their 1st game in the dark souls series a lot. I like bloodborne a lot. And i like sekiro fine enough

Literally every series does this to an extent, that's what gives a series it's distinction. The question is whether the formula is good or not, and I enjoy the souls borne formula. Its not like every single game is a carbon copy of each other they all feel different and have unique mechanics to set each one apart.
Although I didn't enjoy elden ring that much.

I generally think this, but someone put it in a valid perspective: basically, it enables them to keep releasing for people who love it and want more of it. It's like Mario and Pokémon recycling concepts and assets for 20 years. It reinforces familiarity with the brand and ensures time efficiency during development. So while I, an outsider—and one who doesn't like any of it anyway—see it all as the same, the people who are paying for it (aka the people largely driving the industry and its practices) get more video games and the developers have a unique opportunity to optimize the designs and philosophies.
