No it's not.
And a comparable laptop is like $500-$600.
The people looking to buy handhelds are not going to pay $1000 for them, handhelds are companion devices, you buy them as a secondary device to your primary gaming device, ergo they're not worth spending that much money on.

So this is what 950-1000USD to 650-700$ since the euro is worth 15% more and will be soon 20-35% maybe even 50%+ like in the past.

These prices are insane for a massive handheld that makes you look like an omega autis in public. Honestly better off pushing a phone&console with a 1k+ price tag with 2 spec versions that you promise will have a 5 year life min. However microsoft will never ever ever create a unix OS for phones/handhelds. Thus bloated POS jeetcode that overheats within 5mins and shuts off if the temp outside is above 25C because internally its reaching 100c melting&poping shit.

Like their fucking OS is dog shit it cant be used for a phone or even console. This is a terrible idea. Its like instead of looking at what nintendo&valve has done and copying them. They are just going lets repeat the fucking windows phone but make it longer and the OS even worse and throw in massive overheating problems! who cares about stability the RROD taught us shit eaters will buy garbage. All that matters is tricking goyim with sales, then tricking investors with false sales data leaving out all the refunds and handhelds that keep shitting themselves every 2-4 months giving the customer a new one. MICROSOFT DOESNT NEED TO MAKE SALES&MONEY ITS ALL ABOUT PROMOTING FALSE ACCOUNTING AND THUS A HIGHER SHARE PRICE BABY ALL THAT MATTERS IS PROFITS WHO CARES IF EVERYTHING THAT EATS INTO PROFITS IS 3-10X ITS VALUE THE NUMBER IS TOTALLY GOING UP MICROSOFT IS #1 BABY BUY MORE SHARES!

Because valve doesn't want massive sales or shipping a shit product. This was a proof of concept for their loonix OS and using cheap hardware. Blowing a shitload of money to buy 50 million handhelds when you dont know how they will sell is retarded. And if it does sell just make small numbers of new units because the hardware is old.

Just do more R&D work on making loonix better and wait for X chipsto get cheaper. Then release the new product that you took a gamble on making a high number of units hoping it breaks record sales and beats valves internal expectations within the year. Promiss consumers you will update shit for a few years without releasing revisions with much better hardware. So devs will spend time making the game run better on the steamdeck 1.0

Also the fucking switch is sold in every god damn big brand store. The deck is only for sale from valve online minus resellers. comparing the two is retarded

Absolutely. People use them with the Steam Controller API for "glyphs" that give more options. I don't have a hot link to give you, but if you go around the Steam Controller subleddit or even the Deck's leddit you'll see folks making "menu" tic-tac-toe glpyh menus that give them more options off the trackpad in addition to their controller options. It was one of the "killer features" of the original Steam Controller once you got used to it.

Well yeah you need to see how many sales you can get after 2 years. This is very basic marketing&sales, valve wants to know what the life of the steamdeck will be. Its a valve product no shit its going to be advertised a lot on steam. Its "new" finding out the 5 year life long sales once again is super important.
Literally everyone does this with a new product especially if you are investing tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars in manufacturing the next version of the product.

This is beta test most the stuff valve has made has failed. Its a test bed for their version of loonix and finally capturing hardware sales because of how shit microsft is and xbox finally dying.

It's sad. Xbox can't even into pity posting. No one even wants to dab on it.

The AMD chipsets are good, and really good on a per-W basis, but that's compared to the retarded dumpster fire that it Intel. I'm not going to be even half surprised if these Xbox handhelds barely keep up with the Switch 2 in a cuple years, even though they're hugely faster on paper.

How is it a bad product? Its a low spec computer the size of a switch that plays literally every game/system since the 80's and is a normal computer you can install any loonix program on.

Devs dont want to waste time fucking around with another console. Microsoft forced two shitty hardware systems with their god awful OS. Valve much like nintendo&sony is pushing UNIX but instead of using some cringe custom version of BSD. They are going with Arch so its not just a console its a literally computer you can do anything. Its eaiser to code for/edit games from playstation-nintendo minus the shitty specs. Porting a game from playstation to deck is easy as fuck compared to god awful version of windows the xbox runs.

People dont want to waste fucking 2k on just GPU's people want a 500-1k system that will last for 5 years while also being able to use shit like a computer. Hell if the next version of the steamdeck allows simcards for phone&internet it will make even more sales. No need for a shitty andriod phone just have a wireless headset connected to your deck. Since its loonix you can just do wtv the fuck you want its a normal computer. Poof valve finally entered the hardware market, unless microsoft being stagnat as fuck with horrid jeetcode. People will finally try loonix because valve is behind it. I mean hell even working on a version to install on ARM chromebooks would be a god send.

Also with how lazy gamedevs have been thanks to unreal engine. Not optimizing code instead forcing people to waste money on GPU's or buy a PS5 for the same game that looks only a tad worse. Xbox dying saving devtime so they can finally optomize games instead of getting two versions of the game working for xbone is going to be a god send.

NTA but they (UE devs) might start exporting to Vulkan instead of DirectX now that Xbox is slipping. Computers can run Vulkan just fine and it's just 1 click for the devs. Xbox was literally born to keep davs using DirectX and Microsoft's mismanagement of the brand very well might lead to better optimization. Almost every game that can run both VK and DX, runs better with VK.

ding ding openGL has always been the standard for high end shit in video/editing. DirectX is cancer forcing dev's to waste a shitload of time on custom microsoft cancer. Nintendo&sony never used directX. Thats a fuck load of manhours wasted throw in you need to do shit for PC and both custom versions on the xbones.
