Why aren't there any games based on y2k aesthetic nostalgia?

Personally I feel like everything in that image happened, but it died out way too fast.

You can always emulate PN03

>but it died out way too fast.
for good reason, early 2k was filled with gimmicky "future" shit.
cell phones were better though.

It was like "it's the new millennium, new beginning, new us... wait, everything is the same"

The problem with a lot of it was the shitty plastic there were using at the time, very prone to cracking/shattering if dropped.
Also fashion wise things like clear plastic jeans did exist but they fogged up with sweat and just ended up looking gross, and you needed to be skinny to pull of the rest of it, it doesn't work in current year where 70% of women are overweight.

fat people will always look unattractive regardless of what they wear though

Goddamn I miss my Sony CD walkman. Ripping songs from imported DDR games I bought at the flea market. Downloading Zelda trance music from OC Remix on my blazing fast Yahoo DSL connection, discovering how to make MP3 CDs that I could endlessly load with music. Fuck man I didn't think technology couldn't get any better than this, and I was right I fucking hate modern technology.

Yeah but there's looking like an amorphous blob and then there's looking like an amorphous blob crammed into low cut skinny jeans.

That aesthetic was really only prominent in the music that came out at the time, but Space Channel 5 matches it

Best aesthetic, best music.

You are me.
>walking around high school with Sony behind the neck headphones and MP3 playing CD player
>had to use an aux jack to my 3.5mm CD player in my shitty 2002 Cavalier because the stock disc player didn't have shock protection
Hey it worked and I was the fucking shit in high school 2001 to 2005. Miss those days like you wouldn't believe. Never thought I'd be uncle Rico reminiscing about fucking high school but life sucks like that.

game devs are hopeless thieves.
If one gamedev makes a good y2k game you can expect the flood gates to open.
