I whole heartedly believe this game isn't scamware. Their ambition does require this kind of development time because it has never been done before PLUS they are their own bosses to it isn't ruled by retarded management graduates that have no interest in games outside of their potential for ROI. I don't understand you faggots. A game is rushed and released, it's a complete bastardized version of the years long marketing campaign. You'll bash it. A game is delayed because of artistic integrity, technology reworks or whatever else but on the DEV's terms with no influence from major faggos like Andrew Wilson, Bobby Kotick or hacks like Phil Spencer and you guys cry about it, too? All the money donated is also out of the player's retardation, like a gacha game INSTEAD you get exactly you paid for. More bitching. Make it make some sense.
>>715442453 Then you don't play any space games. But you're right, it would be hard to find a scam with such a mentally ill cult fanbase. >broooo you have to get into star citizen it's so amazing you can do [thing] and [thing] and they added [thing] too you have to check it out!!! >try star citizen >after some problems finally start playing the game >get hit with glitches >power through them and try to do [thing] >it doesn't work like it should >try other thing >the broken state of the game gets in the way >try another thing >been broken forever >try to complain, get told it's in development so you should expect everything to be broken >complain more >broooo don't be like that this game gets so amazing if you stick with it check out what you can do!!! >posts videos of events directed by the game's biggest cultists that don't represent actual game content and are just a bunch of larping >repeat the same shit every year Piss off
That's because Star Citizen is literally an 'impossible project' The concept always seemed like a pipe dream that became a reality. I don;t blame developer incompetency here. No Man's Sky and Starfield have the same hurdles.

>>715440971 >squadron 42 is feature complete Since 2016 and has been reworked, revamped, redone a number of times ever since.

>>715440090 (OP) from what i understand the game has effectively been out for years, it's just that the content is the stuff you create and the playerbase is mostly second-life weirdos
>>715446698 >maybe the real game is the friends we made along the way The absolute state of scam citizen

Im sure the actual game parts are great.

>>715440661 I genuinely believe it wasn't a scam to begin with, but they smoothly and naturally transitioned it to a scam over time because it's much easier and more profitable than actually making the game. It's the SFW equivalent of a patreon milking weg, they profit more from the game being unfinished and selling the idea of the game than they would from actually finishing it.
>>715440661 Fucking this Between then and now, think of how many gaming trends have changed and evolved. I'm pretty sure this is why Half Life 3 (finally) got cancelled, because the old-school linear progression game format from HL/2 was no longer relevant, and was doomed to flop. To STILL pine for funding screams some sort of money laundering scheme.
>>715440090 (OP) I paid 100 money (one hundred dollars) for this "game" back in 2013. In the meantime I've served in the military. Gone to university for a bachelors degree. Got a job. Quit my job and got a new job. Moved cities twice. And Squadron 42 STILL isn't out.
