Meanwhile World released in the same year as GU and Frontier was still alive and Rise released during Corona together with Stories 2, being the first title on a new engine.

Something that baffles me about MH Wilds is that when people talk about the issues with the game the performance issues are usually cited specifically as "performance issues on PC". Have these people actually seen how the game runs on PS5? I know its not just Console players having low standards because there are plenty of games that can do proper 4k 60fps or 1080 120fps that look much better than Wilds on current gen consoles, so its not like they don't have a frame of reference.

Beat all content, crafted every armor set, got all the crowns, HR 300+. I enjoyed it but they made the endgame too easy. Grind was removed with easy quests to get best decos, artian parts aren’t hard to collect at all. Monsters give excessive mats for crafting/converting. Maybe it’s been too long since I played GU but the thought of getting 3 gems in 1 hunt off the same monster was impossible but has happened multiple times in wilds. I don’t hate the gameplay but I have no reason to keep going unless a new festival releases

I can say that with my setup from 2022 I’ve never run into any consistent dip below 60 fps, shuddering, or even a minor dip below 30 fps. The game takes a few minutes to initially load but I otherwise haven’t run into any real performance issues. Only 2 one off crashes since launch. I don’t think I’ve got a great setup so I don’t understand the people who can’t run it

I really enjoyed playing through the story, and I don't regret buying the game, but it's just simply too easy to have any longevity. I grinded the beta with shit gear longer than it took me to beat the hardest monster in the actual game.

The funny thing is the majority of toxicity and “death threats” are literally coming from the Japanese player base, which are mostly on PS5. This is the reading of one of the instance where the game hung before it crashed (yes I know it's bottlenecked). After that somehow adrenaline also crashed/removed from tray icon.

My original post was pointing out that its doesn't make sense to make Wilds' poor performance into a console war thing because its measurable worse than other, better looking games on all available platforms.
Whether you personally had fun despite that is irrelevant. I played world on a 2080 and wilds on a 5090 and the performance was definitely in the "acceptable" range for both on that hardware, but others games allow me to get much better mileage out of that hardware.
This is true on all platforms because the game is simply poorly optimized. I wouldn't get so caught up in the performance/graphics autism if the game itself had more substance to it but the content available out the bad was too little and too easy. This opinion goes up to the update where they added the rematch of the story final boss i don't know if they've added actually good fights after that but I've already wasted enough time mindlessly wailing on these monsters so I don't really care to give it another chance at this point.

I played it on a 1060 just fine, with a 2080 you could probably run it at native 4k.
To be fair the current graphics generation are shit, but you have to optimize games for what is available and not what you think that the norm might be in 5 years.

People sometimes bring up Crysis for running shit at max settings on hardware at the tie of release, but they forget the game still looked amazing at mid settings.
Meanwhile Wilds looks fucking horrible on low settings. Everything becomes noisy and grainy, some stuff still looks pretty good while others compete with MH4

base world had us fighting the same three elder dragons for the longest until kulve and teostra was released.
rise had valstrax and he provided some challenge but was kinda easy, the game had no challenge until expansion, even then you had to get to high master ranks before rise monsters were available.
Wilds already has some decent
challenges with Lagi and Serg.
Wilds also has had some really cool updates such as the hub with the singing diva and the akuma skin which actually gives fist combat with sf6 akuma moves. funny how these are never mentioned by haters. faggots like to cry about games being soulless but fail to see the purest of kino when hit with it in the face.
