its crazy to me that Gears 5 is easily one of the best looking games of 8th gen but I never see it come up in graphics conversations. The story and characters are so dull everyone just forgot about it.

Everything after 3 has been a total failure on all counts

Forgot about GRAW. That was a cool attempt at realism but ultimately like playing in molasses compared to those other games. Not worth playing more than once.

I remember gears 2 being near unplayable for months when it released, just awful online experiences if you weren't host and even then people were lagging all over the place.

Gears 3 just felt kinda boring and going through the motions.

Gears 2's atmosphere was worse than the original, but the scale of the conflict and the very grounded narrative were best in the series.
