Why do people on /v/ default to sales metrics or calling them a contrarian as a response when someone is either criticizing or disliking something they like?
who needs independent thought when you can quote sales numbers?

Because the pointlessness of making "critique threads" to hellyache about games they don't like don't deserve any real conversation.

>>715477740 (OP) What is the ideal response? Surprising nobody, a robot NPC doesn't get why people won't dignify pointless "critique" with some sort of real heartfelt response
>>715477740 (OP) If I post player or sale stats it's usually because it's cathartic to see a game I don't like fail or a game I do like succeed. Not that I consider a game good or bad based on how it sells. But there are plenty of anons that do that unfortunately

>>715479564 Almost any critique where someone can enjoy the game despite the criticism which is most critique. It doesn't matter that Silent Hill has dog shit combat for example or Mario is piss easy.

>>715477740 (OP) Because you are almost certainly a contrarian. You're arguing some game is bad for some dumb reason that isn't relevant to the players of the game. It's easy to dismiss these types of arguments with sales figures, awards, and critical response. >b-b-but flies on s-shit?! Why should anyone care about a fly on /v/ that hates one turd but likes another?
