In the Dune Universe, Holtzman shields make you perfectly immune to all forms of damage and have no charge that can depleted. Wouldn't make for thrilling gameplay if that were the case in game.

Its a good movie (the first one) but it's just not as good.

Same with Blade Runner 2049. There's just pacing or editing problems that don't make the films as good as the originals.

Yeah I know you fucking moron, it was cool, and the people who made it for some reason didn't think that was good enough and instead decided to make female Fremen characters girl bosses. It worked in the book because the bene gesserit use their feminine traits to their advantage and acknowledge their weaknesses that they lack but men have. In the movie, it was typical girlboss shit and the bene gesserit were also fucked up with bad writing like the big plot whole of reverend mother's spying on the Fremen for years in the southern hemisphere.

both autonomous machines and the use of nuclear detonations in war are haram in Dune. the Landsraad political structure is designed to encourage 95% of the galaxy to turn on any 5% that breaks the rules, and if you break the rules you are also no longer allowed to travel through space via the spacing guild's ships. Any house that tries to pull off intentional suicide nukes gets blacklisted and genocided.

Dune has always had this problem going way back to that Dune RTS that was entirely about guns and tanks and the David Lynch movie that had magic not-laser guns for no reason. The way shields work in the books is so fucking autistic that it basically precludes anything but knife fights and karate. You could maybe have a Dune fighting game, third person action, or beat-em-up, but your opportunities for making fun gameplay are severely constrained. Like how are you going to differentiate enemies? There's knife guy, knife guy but better, guy who shoots slow ass poison darts...........and that's it. Maybe the weird catmen from books 5-6. A faithful Dune adaptation is uniquely not suited to video games.

Dune 1 did have a serious pacing issue right in the middle. The part in the dust storm where they commandeer the flyer drags on and on and on. It was actually so badly paced relative to the rest of the film I was scratching my head.

No.
It's obvious they were destroyed or allowed to be destroyed intentionally, along with building 7. Too many coincidences.
But if you're already tossing out the idea because of "mini nukes", a conspiracy theory I've never even heard of, then there is no point in even discussing it.

I hate the Meta in Ark pvp. Stegosaurus and flyers. Why not somehow balance the game to where the T-rex is the shit? Idk, to me it's like you buy a Call of Duty game and the AK47 sucks, the M16 sucks, the TAR21 sucks, the Famas sucks, and the META gun is a water gun. A literal water gun. That's what it feels like when the Stegosaurus is the meta in a game with the T-Rex and the Spinosaurus and what not. None of the cool shit matters at all in PVP. I feel Ark has a lot of potential, but it would require completely rethinking the role of the dinos from the ground up (flyers are only scouts, stegos aren't the be all end all raiding dino, T-Rex is somehow useful, etc). This image is what Ark should actually be like.

The thing is, while the combat in Dune universe is about knives and shields, the Arrakis itself has unique environment that precludes the use of shields outside of certain safe zones. Harkonnen used artillery, and even though it was for a very specific purpose, they could've used it against Fremen too, they just didn't let Glossu Rabban have it because fuck that guy. Fremen themselves were adept in using projectile weapons, and Atreides actually supplied them with missile launchers. So Dune RTS weren't as canon-breaking as you think.

Have you ever tried cutting a sheet of steel with an obsidian knife? Just because it's sharp doesn't mean it doesn't need significant force applied to it in order to penetrate. Especially in the case of darts. I still don't get how come a normal weapon swing is too fast but a PROJECTILE isn't.

There are some projectile weapons that can penetrate shields (air guns firing poisoned darts), but they are short ranged and also don't penetrate shields reliably - their muzzle velocity is barely under the shield's limit, so if target runs towards you, then the relative speed will exceed the threshold and projectile will be deflected.
