What do you mean didn't show up? Installing luma shouldn't affect save data at all. Did you open checkpoint and not see anything? You need to hit refresh to make your saves show up, it takes some time to detect all of them.

I hacked my N3DSXL last week, thought it was going to be harder than it looked from the guide. Ended up being pretty easy and straightforward. This was from a clean 3DS though so i didn't have any data on it.

My 3DS AC adapter hasn't worked since I got it out of storage, and I am too lazy to replace it.

What is everyone's opinion on the 3DS model lineup? I have a N3DSXL, which would work great if it weren't dead. Only thing I don't like is the larger screen. In hindsight, low-res games look better on smaller screen to me. I like the look of the original model and the smaller size of the regular N3DS, but the former lacks the "New" extra features/power and the latter is expensive/yellowed.

I hated the ergonomics of the old 3DS, My hands would cramp up every time. The finish would also be prone to peeling off due to wear over time. The N3DS was a great improvement and I liked the customization options of the faceplates.

I also fell for it, very tempted to get the dual-screen. I got one as soon as it could boot into linux, runs everything I've ever thrown at it perfectly including PS2. I "might" get a mini at some point, but my next handheld will probably be a deck 2 if/when it gets OLED.

I was considering, but it seems 3ds emulators suffer from terrible shader compilation stutter. It was especially atrocious in Fire Emblem. And enabling Asynchronous shader compilation caused horrible pop-in. It's a shame cause oled and high resolution made my new 3ds XL's screen look so dull by comparison.

What emulator are you using? 8gb RAM should be significant unless you are running multiple shaders (which makes no sense considering the nature of the 3ds). 3ds emulation is also dead on the "mainline" emulators and you have to get a fork like azahar or whatever else due to jewtendo rooting out whatever PO box in Granada the devs might be using.

It's mostly thanks to my own stupidity. I fixed it with super glue the first time it broke (and by break, I mean a chunk broke off of it taking the entire button off).
Now my nephew broke it again and I tried fixing it the same way. Only when it dried and I tried playing it again did I realize that the R button was fucked. It works somewhat, but I have to press it really hard.
Oh, well. I had a good run with it.

My 64GB SD card got damaged last week so I had to move to a spare 32GB one that I had lying around. I'm bitter but at least I took it as a chance to update and cut a lot of shit that, realistically, I was never going to play. The amount of stuff that you can cram in one of these is genuinely surprising, take care of them anons.
